News Blog Category - News Via Credit Union and Marion Community Schools operate a cooperative educational program, a Student Operated Branch. The mission of the cooperative is to help students learn about money and to establish money management skills.

The Student Operated Branch is open every Wednesday morning prior to school and accepts deposits only. As an incentive to save at their school, each time a student makes a deposit their name is placed into a weekly and monthly drawing.

During October, students who make a deposit can spin the prize wheel for school supplies!

If you would like for your child to start saving at the Kendall Student Branch, please complete a permission slip and return it along with their initial deposit. Permission slips will be sent home but are also available in the school office.

Dear Kendall parents and guardians:

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the recently appointed principal of Kendall Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead this school.

I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than 17 years. In that time, I have worked with a variety of students, ranging in age from preschool through high school, all at Marion Community Schools! My husband and I are raising two Marion Giants of whom we are super proud.

I am excited and eager to bring my skills as an educational leader to Kendall and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.

Along with the teachers and staff, Mr. Brooks and I will work hard to build strong relationships with parents, students, and community partners. We will focus on character education initiatives, Indiana standards, and the use of data to drive instruction and to provide consistent implementation of the curriculum in a rigorous manner so that we can continue to increase achievement for all students.

All of us at Kendall are eager and excited to begin what promises to be the best year ever. This year is going to be amazing as we continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous and relevant, and to help them build relationships while making real-world connections. As your administration, it is important to us that everyone who steps through our doors — teachers, students, and parents — are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. We are looking forward to having our hallways and classrooms filled with students again!

Our door is always open and we welcome your input. Please feel free to call or email to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.

We look forward to working with you as a team to help each student at Kendall meet their goals and have a successful school year!

From the desk of Mr. Brooks:

I am thrilled to return to Kendall this year. After 10 years of teaching in the classroom and helping as the dean of students last year, I am happy to take the next step by becoming the assitant principal at Kendall! My wife and I have two current Marion Giants and a future Giant at home. I believe in Mrs. Wright's vision for Kendall and believe in the staff and community here. As we work together, there are great things on the horizon for Kendall. I can't wait to see what this year has in store!

Best Regards,

Mrs. Olivia Wright, Principal

Mr. Josh Brooks, Assistant Principal
